A bit about Ian: Originally from Canada, he has lived in Australia for many years now and has been at Semaphore Uniting Church for over 5 years. (still has his accent!) Married with grown children, Ian has a real heart for the under privileged in our society. His particular areas of interest are refugees, the gay community, mental health and the aboriginal people. He works tirelessly in his community helping those in need and also is an excellent leader, encouraging others to serve in areas that give life rather than just performing tasks. His messages are given with a gentle heart, challenging us to follow the examples of Jesus, teaching loving, compassion and serving. He also heads up some of the groups that are run at Semaphore Uniting church, for example the meditation group, youth group and bike group and also helps out with the Friendship cafe and playgroup. Dedication to his work and helping others sum up Ian very well!
